I've had to get up at an unspeakably early time this morning because my eldest daughter has a school trip to
Ypres. They are visiting the preserved battlefield trenches and the
Menin Gate Memorial.

I'm not sure if they will be visiting the
Tyne Cot Commonwealth war cemetery but I hope they do. Combined with the fact that it is the week of the Armistice ceremony I think this trip has the potential to make a real impact on children for whom WWI is ancient history.

I've tasked Sarah with taking lots of photo's (I'm even trusting her with my camera) and I'll post any good pictures here after she returns. Now I'm going back to bed for a couple of hours!
Thanks - I've been to those places too, and it's profoundly moving.
