This was the Ben Hur inspired participation game Circus Minimus run by the Reading Wargames Club at Salute 2006. The game was fast paced and easy to play. When I saw the game in action it was surrounded by a crowd of players of different ages, all clearly enjoying themselves.
Great to see the kids playing the game
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, all seem to enjoy it! Nothing like a bit of racing.
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories. We've built such a board in 15mm in the late eighties and played avalon hill's circus maximus on it. Once a year we invited lots of people from the neighbourhoud for a day of racing and gambling. Wonder where the board is now :-)
ReplyDeleteA day at the races! Very nice gameboard!

Great stuff ,fun to see the kids play miniature games as well :-)
ReplyDeleteI see the grid on the table is diveded evenly as well with the outer tracks having larger spaces and the inner one's smaller. Pretty clever way of balancing all tracks!
A very good idea to attract young cadres. Coincidentally, we are currenly launching a Circus Maximus project in 28mm at our club. I just bought my chariot
ReplyDeleteLooks good. I wonder what make the chariots are??
ReplyDeleteCheers
