Ahem, sorry, couldn't resist. So today is Star Wars Day and it seems somehow a little more relevent this year, especially as the cast of the next installment, Star Wars VII, have been confirmed this week. I'm excited and scared in equal measure about this next film, along it seems with the entire interweb which has been frothing with speculation and debate all week.

I couldn't agree more Lee, this needs to be spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThey've got a lot of making up to do for the prequels.
ReplyDeleteMay the 4th be with you
It;s also my daughter's birthday today. She loves Star Wars so much she went to one of the auditions for the new film!
ReplyDeleteApathy is about the most positive feelings I can muster. I am almost certain they will screw it up. I have very little faith in George Lucas at this point.
ReplyDeleteI grew up on Star Wars like many of us and remember going with my Dad when it was first released back in 77'. I thought it was going to be boring and asked him why would stars fighting each other be fun watch? Oh boy was I wrong! Lost count how many times I saw the first three and was a total addict. Now unlike some others the 3 prequels where quite good IMHO, but of course did not affect me same way as the first 3 did when I was a kid, but then again what does so making fair comparisons of what I saw as kid and as an adult is difficult to do. Suffice to say I happily enjoyed all 6 so far and I'm very excited about seeing the the7th!

Lightsabres with lens flare, I can hardly wait!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though I thought Abrams did a pretty good job with Star Trek so I'm optimistic about this. Bear in mind if it goes wrong he'll forever be known as Jar Jar Abrams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope it will be a good one.
