Do you have your own painting style, honed over many years and stuck to rigidly, or do you enjoy experimenting with new techniques and products as I do?
When it comes to miniature painting, are you someone who has a set style that hasn’t changed much over the years, or do you embrace new techniques and adopt what works best for you?
Interesting post Lee. I try things out but then tend to settle back into what works for me.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your battle report. It was an excellent game and look forward to another in 2025.
As someone who began painting in "Ye Olde Dayes" (the 1970s) with enamels, and then taking a long break from the hobby, returning after 2000, when enamels were all but gone--I just picked up where I left off, doing what I know, still painting with enamels. Given that, like you, I am a gamer who paints, I've not felt the need to shift to acrylics and the latest methods. I tried, but found it wasn't worth it. So I've added a few tricks, but still can't say that I have an actual "style". I can say that I have gotten more practiced and nuanced with what I do: drybrushing, underpainting, and spending extra time on special figures. Good topic.
