It's been hot lately. Damn hot. Too hot in fact to sit inside painting...
So I took the painting tray outside (at last, an advantage to not having a fixed table space!). I've never painted outside before - UK weather doesn't usually cooperate - and its a different experience to painting under a lamp. The heat made my paint dry quicker than normal but a little water mixed with slowdry sorted that out.
This was a productive afternoon, keeping an eye on kids in the pool, enjoying a cool breeze and getting started on my painting project.
Lovely, mate!
ReplyDeleteBeware trying it in direct sunlight though - like photography, it neve quite works.
For me it was the other way around. Way to hot outside to paint but a nice cool temperature inside the house.
ReplyDeleteyou looks way too high or your table way too low : you should try to find a taller table (or something to put on the table under your painting station, or a lower chair (what i did) or you'll harm your back !

Thanks for the comments. I used a large garden umbrella to shade me while painting and with the slight breeze it was heaven compared to inside the house. I normally balance my elbows on the table and sit more upright when indoors but this table was wobbly and lower than normal. A small price to pay for somewhere cool to sit.

ReplyDeleteWhere did you find that wooden tray? I'd really like to get something like that.
ReplyDeleteIts a Games Workshop Paint Station. They come flat packed and need to be glued together. I've had mine for years.
