The Waterloo Diorama at the Royal Green Jackets Museum in Winchester is a truly impressive sight. Best seen with the Mk.1 Eyeball, hopefully, my short video will inspire you to visit the museum in person. There are actually six military museums in Winchester and you can buy a single ticket to gain entry to them all.
Yes, good concentration of museums in Winchester (close to the station) and the parts of the ticket can be used on different days. We had 4 nights there last Summer - good place to visit though a cooler temperature would have been welcome.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to compare the Green Jackets Museum Diorama with the Waterloo Restored Dioramas which I fortunate to see a few weeks ago. Huge difference in scale, detail and accuracy. That said, I still reckon it's one of the best Military Museums in the country. It has a wonderful collection of exhibits.
