How do you feel about variable movement rates in wargames? I discuss the pros and cons of this rule mechanic and present a couple of examples from my own gaming.[This video was published last weekend but I forgot to repost it here at the time! ]
Like you Lee, I'm very relaxed about variable movement. However, I see them better at lower level games - skirmish, platoon, company, where individuals would move at different speeds. I would tend to assume the "micro-terrain as factored in for battalions, regiments etc. That said, I would be appy to play either.
Thank you for leaving a comment. I always try to reply as soon as I can, so why not pop back later and continue the conversation. In the meantime, check out my YouTube channel Miniature Adventures TV

ReplyDeleteVariable movement rates are a good mechanic for introducing uncertainty in the game. It keeps players thinking, and that's always a good thing.
